Scripture Reflections with Sr. Mary Catalon


First Thursdays of each month at

With a reflection on women over the centuries who have had a positive impact on the church and the world  rom the third century: Christian Martyrs, Saints Perpetua and Felicity to the contemporary:


Sr. Dorothy Stang SNDeN, American-born Brazilian Catholic nun and martyr American-born Brazilian Catholic nun and martyr and Malala Yousafzai - a Pakistani female education activist.

Maryann Cantlon is a Sister of St. Joseph of Chambery, whose ministry work includes; Prison Ministry, Restorative Justice, and an educational mission among the indigenous Maya Indians. She has been involved in many other ministries as well and she holds a Master’s degree in Music from the Hartt College of Music and a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, CA, with a concentration in Sacred Scripture.


Lectionary Based Bible Study


Anyone interested in reflecting each week on the Scriptures for the upcoming weekend is invited to join a lectionary-based Bible study group. 


You are invited to join us for a weekly scripture discussion.

We meet at the church, in the Parish Hall or outside (weather permitting), on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. 


  This is a wonderful practice that helps us connect life and faith, and prepares us for a deeper experience of the weekend Mass.

Lectio Divina is an ancient Christian practice of prayer and scripture reading intended to help us enter deeply into the presence of God and to increase our knowledge of God's Word. It is simply a method that enables us to experience the Living Christ in our hectic lives. When we reconnect with the Lord by listening to him, our lives take on new power and meaning.

Adult Confirmation

Archbishop Coyne celebrates Adult Confirmation with a Ceremony at St Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield.


Adult Confirmation preparation takes place over a five week period. Preparation times and locations vary.

Requirements Include:

  • The candidate must be at least 18 years old for adult confirmation
  • The candidate must be a baptized Roman Catholic
  • The candidate must have received First Communion
  • The candidate must have a Catholic sponsor who has been confirmed
